By Matthew CoudenShareNewsweek is a Trust Project memberThe Buffalo Bills were disrupted throughout their matchup against the Houston Texans, resulting in a 23-19 loss. That came courtesy of a suffocating defense that sacked quarterback Josh Allen eight times, raising injury concerns for the Bills star.
One of those takedowns arrived early in the game courtesy of a ferocious Houston defense. After the hit, medical staff checked on Allen on the field, as he appeared to be in some pain. While he got shaken up in that moment, he never left the matchup and continued to play the entire game.
Following the game, Allen was among several Bills who took the podium to address their team's loss. He provided an update on his potential injury, which occurred early in the game.
"I'm OK. I'm alright," Allen told reporters, "Just left shoulder. Landed on it. Went a little numb on me. We're good."

...Allen has shown resilience throughout his career, which has led him to become one of the league's top quarterbacks. One has to look back to his rookie season to see that Allen suffered an elbow injury that put him on the sidelines. However, he returned after missing four games.
During his postgame press conference, Allen was asked about the Texans taking him down so many times. The Texans' eight sacks on Allen were an all-time high in a game for the Bills star.
"Yeah, it's not fun. I ran into a couple myself. I gotta be better at throwing the ball away," he admitted.
Allen's early injury concern arrived after Texans defensive end Will Anderson Jr. sacked him from behind on a scramble attempt. The Bills quarterback stayed down and looked to be in pain, with Al Michaels even offering an "uh oh" on the broadcast as several Bills players and staff gathered around him on the field.

However, he returned and continued playing. Asked about what Houston did so well defensively, Allen shared a clear message about their opponents and his team.
"I'll have to watch it on film. Looks like they were doing a few different stunts. They had a good plan. We just gotta play better," Allen said, later telling another reporter, "They wanted it today."
Buffalo entered the matchup against the Texans after Allen put on an impressive performance against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In that game, he threw six touchdowns.
However, they ran into the league’s best defense, as Houston was allowing just 258 yards and 16.4 points per game. With the loss, the Bills fell to 7-4 on the season, and continue to chase the New England Patriots for the AFC North. They'll try to bounce back when they visit the Pittsburgh Steelers on Nov. 30.
