McDonald’s is spreading a little festive sneer this holiday season with the release of a brand-new menu inspired by Dr. Seuss’s The Grinch.

"The Grinch Meal," made by McDonald’s in partnership with Dr. Seuss Enterprises, will give diners the choice of a Big Mac or 10-piece Chicken McNuggets, along with a medium drink and a portion of Dill Pickle "Grinch Salt" McShaker Fries. Each meal will include a sachet of tangy, dill pickle seasoning, which, when applied to the fries via the signature McShaker bag, will give them an extra festive kick.

As part of the promotion, each meal comes with a pair of spirited socks featuring a message from the Grinch and available in a range of four suitably unhinged colors.

Each pair of socks features a personal message from the Grinch letting everyone know exactly how he feels this holiday season. Though they work great as socks, they can also be used as impromptu stockings, just like Mt. Crumpit's finest."

The Grinch Meal will be available at all participating McDonald’s restaurants from December 2.

To mark the release, McDonald’s also issued a statement on behalf of the Grinch, which is said to have been "handwritten on crumpled paper from Mt. Crumpit."

"THiS iS MY MEAL AND i DiDN’T PARTNER WiTH McDONALD’S OUT OF THE GOODNESS OF MY HEART," the Grinch said.

"I SAW AN OPPORTUNiTY TO BRiNG MiSCHiEF TO YOUR BELOVED "RESTAURANT" WiTH MY DELiCiOUS CHAOS FOR THE HOLiDAYS AND i TOOK iT. SO GO AHEAD, GRAB MY MEAL STARTING DEC. 2—YOU’RE WELCOME FOR MAKiNG YOUR HOLiDAYS iNFiNiTELY MORE iNTERESTiNG."

McDonald's has also revealed plans for the return of two limited-edition menu favorites.

The Grinch has been a Christmas pop culture mainstay for nearly 70 years now.

Created by children’s author Theodor Seuss Geisel, aka Dr. Seuss, the Grinch first appeared in print in 1955 in the poem The Hoohub and the Grinch, which was published in Redbook magazine.

However, it wasn’t until 1957, and the publication of the iconic book How the Grinch Stole Christmas!, that the character began to enter the public consciousness.

Its status as a bona-fide Christmas favorite was further cemented in 1966, when an animated TV film version, narrated by horror acting legend Boris Karloff, captivated millions.

A further two film versions of the Grinch story have followed in the decades since, starting with a 2000 live-action movie starring Jim Carrey. and a 2018 animated version with Benedict Cumberbatch voicing the Grinch this time around.

Dr. Seuss died in 1991, leaving behind an incredible legacy of over 60 bestselling children’s books and a raft of hilarious quotes and words of wisdom that remain relevant today.
