Bosch advanced through the preliminary rounds with strength, securing a spot in the Top 30 along with her Latin American peers. She then moved on to the Top 12 and ultimately into the Top 5 finalists, a strong showing for Mexico. In her live interview round (Top 5 stage), Bosch was asked about "the challenges of being a woman in 2025" and responded that she would use her voice in the service of others.

From Tabasco to the world

Fátima Bosch Fernández hails from Santiago de Teapa, Tabasco, Mexico, and on 13 September 2025, she was crowned Miss Universe Mexico 2025. She studied Fashion & Apparel Design at Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico, and pursued additional studies at the Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti in Milan and the Lyndon Institute in Vermont, USA. Fátima also publicly shared how she battled dyslexia and ADHD during her school years, now turning those challenges into a platform for advocacy on neurodiversity.

On September 13, 2025, Fátima became the winner of the national title Miss Universe Mexico 2025, representing her home state of Tabasco, making her the first woman from that state ever to hold the title and be sent to compete internationally at Miss Universe 2025.

Earlier this month, at a pre-pageant sash-presentation event in Thailand, the pageant's director for the host country, Nawat Itsaragrisil, publicly criticized Bosch, accusing her of failing to participate in a promotional shoot.

The exchange was captured on livestream, and Itsaragrisil reportedly publicly called Bosch "dumb" and had security escort her out when she attempted to defend herself. Several other contestants walked out in solidarity. In the aftermath, Mexican businessman Raúl Rocha Cantú, the owner of the Miss Universe Organization, condemned the incident as "humiliation and abuse" and announced swift measures to restore order.
