Whether you’re pushed for time or you need a helping hand with everyday cleaning tasks, you just can’t beat a good robot vacuum.
I found out the hard way that not all robot vacuums are made equal after purchasing myself a budget option from a well-known brand, which turned out to be more hassle than helpful. After that somewhat frustrating yet amusing experience, I went on a quest to find an efficient cleaning companion, which led me to the compact SwitchBot K11+, which has proven itself to be my ideal cleaning companion.
SwitchBot is known for making some of the best robot vacuums, and after becoming acquainted with the K11+, I can’t help but agree with this accolade. The K11+ took moments to set up, did a great job of mapping out my floorspace, and proved reliable enough that I didn’t need to worry about what it was getting up to when left to its own devices.
At full price, the SwitchBot K11+ costs $399.99 / £399.99; however, we’ve already seen the price drop significantly, despite only being released in September this year.
Excitingly, my favorite cleaning companion is already getting the Black Friday treatment, with the price plummeting by over 50 percent in the US, so you can pick up the SwitchBot K11+ at Amazon for just $191.99 right now.
There’s a fabulous Black Friday deal on offer in the UK as well, as we can get the SwitchBot K11+ at Amazon for only £239.99.
I considered the SwitchBot K11+ to be good value for money even before Black Friday kicked off, considering its skillful navigation and vacuuming, and the convenience of its teeny size, so these price drops are well worth jumping on.
It’s worth noting that the compact design does come with a slight compromise when it comes to mopping, as noted in our four-star review of the SwitchBot K11+, but it’s still very much worth the cost for the vacuuming alone.
If you’re curious to know why I’m so complimentary about the K11+, it’s because this little robot vac has proven incredibly convenient for me, for a number of reasons. As someone with health conditions that affect my mobility and energy levels, having a little robot companion as efficient as the SwitchBot K11+ has been such a game-changer for keeping on top of the vacuuming.
The compact size of the K11+ is a particularly big plus for me. I’d resigned myself to the idea that I would have to go for a dockless model like the G50, as I really didn’t want to sacrifice a load of floor space when a robot vac would only be cleaning a few rooms.
It turns out I needn’t be so pessimistic, however, as the K11+’s dock is just 9.8 inches / 25cm tall. The robot vac itself is also satisfyingly small, too, and kinda cute, with a diameter of only 9.8 inches / 24.8cm.
I found the setup process almost effortless, as the K11+ is so small and light that I had no problem getting it unboxed and moving it to its new home, and setting it up on the app was pleasingly straightforward.
The initial mapping process was satisfyingly efficient as well, since the K11+ quietly and politely surveyed the space in a logical manner, a very far cry from the chaos of the G50’s previous attempts.
I’ve loved using this little SwitchBot vac. Rather than having to psych myself up to get the vacuum out and inevitably burn straight through my limited energy supply after wanging it around, I simply need to hit a button in the app or spend a few moments setting up a cleaning routine so it’ll do its thing at set times.
The combination of these convenient elements means I only need to concern myself with tidying up the various cables and boxes that often clutter my floor, so I can sit back and recharge while the K11+ handles the rest.
So, if you’re looking for a robot vacuum that won’t act like a space invader wreaking havoc in your home, then I highly recommend giving the SwitchBot K11+ a try.
