South Carolina headed to the locker room at halftime last week with a shocking 30-3 lead over No. 3-ranked and unbeaten Texas A&M, only to have the Aggies storm back to hand the Gamecocks their fifth straight loss in a 31-30 stunner. LaNorris Sellers threw for 246 yards and two touchdowns with an interception, with Nyck Harbor grabbing three balls for 102 yards and an 80-yard score while Vandrevius Jacobs hauled in a 50-yard TD pass. Nick Barrett scored a defensive touchdown with a 17-yard fumble return as well.
Coastal Carolina played catch-up almost the entire way last week as its four-game winning streak ended with a 45-40 loss at Georgia Southern. Wide receiver Bryson Graves threw a 75-yard touchdown pass to Jameson Tucker while fellow pass-catcher Robby Washington connected with Karmello English on a 12-yard scoring play. Quarterback Tad Hudson, meanwhile, threw for 173 yards and an interception after Samari Collier left with an injury that will sideline him this week. Collier ran for 69 yards and a TD on six carries, and Dominic Knicely also had a touchdown run while Malcolm Gillie returned a kickoff 96 yards for a score.
The Chanticleers return to Columbia for the third time, having lost each of their first two visits, most recently a 49-15 defeat on Sept. 1, 2018.
