The late icon was “massively in awe” of Adele, a fan of Amy Winehouse and “didn’t really listen to rock”'

Sharon Osbourne wanted Ozzy Osbourne to make a “duets album with all female vocalists,” according to Jack Osbourne.

In a new interview with his half-brother Louis on Jack’s Trying Not To Die podcast, the pair spoke about his love for ’80s music and female artists.
Advertisement“He didn’t really listen to rock, he would appreciate it, he could understand it but he was more intrigued with music with really amazing production and melody,” Jack said before Louis added: “He’d listen to things like Tears For Fears and quite a lot of ’80s music.”
Jack went on: “He loved music from the ’80s. He went through a heavy Michael Jackson phase over the last couple of years.”
Louis then interjected: “I tell you who really, really, really did blow him away when she first came along – Adele. He was massively, massively in awe of her vocal range and her voice, he was quite blown away by it. Amy Winehouse as well, he rated Amy Winehouse a lot. Over the last 20 years they are two of the greatest voices especially to come out of the UK.”
Jack went to say that Ozzy also “loved” Annie Lennox and female vocalists “because he could appreciate the melody lines”.
RecommendedHe added: “One thing that mum was really trying to get dad to do in the last couple of years. She really wanted him to do a duets album with all female vocalists.”
Elsewhere in the interview, the pair opened up about a long-lost song that saw their father’s vocals feature alongside those of Madonna.
Called ‘Shake Your Head’ the song is a remix of the track by the American band Was (Not Was), which was first released with Kim Basinger’s vocals in place of Madonna’s.
AdvertisementThe version with both Madonna and Ozzy was later shared almost 10 years later on a vinyl version of the ‘Now Dance 92’ compilation, and the song was then quietly uploaded to YouTube a couple of years ago, but not brought to light until recently.
The metal icon passed away on July 22 at the age of 76, just over two weeks after he played his last ever show as the frontman of Black Sabbath at a concert at Villa Park in Birmingham.
He was laid to rest in the grounds of his UK mansion during a private ceremony that was attended by Elton John, members of Metallica and more, and his cortege had previously travelled through his home city of Birmingham in a procession attended by thousands of fans.
