Logan Henderson had spent most of his twenties watching his hairline steadily retreat upwards and out of sight. Much to his displeasure. Deciding enough was enough, the 26-year-old booked himself in for a hair transplant on November 1 of this year. He'd been slowly losing hair since he was 19 and felt that it made him look quite a bit older than he actually was. A long day in surgery later, he emerged with around 4,500 grafts and very high hopes of being a man with a full head of hair once again. Unfortunately, things were about to go quite wrong for the Manchester man... (Picture: Jam Press/@bodyrenovation_)

By the second day of recovery from the £3,500 ($4,500) op, he noticed that his forehead was beginning to puff up in ways he'd not seen advertised or been warned about. He had been told to sleep upright for 10 days to protect the grafts, but nothing prepared him for the swelling that crept lower and more bulbous by the hour. Even he admitted that the situation was taking a fairly surreal turn. Luckily, Logan saw a funny side that, no doubt, many other people might not have. (Picture: Jam Press/@bodyrenovation_)

To keep the swelling under control, Logan strapped on a post-procedure headband. It helped a little, although it also redirected the swelling into some rather unusual shapes. Posting on social media, he compared himself to a certain animated character from a 2010 children’s film and did so with impressive calm and self-deprecation. He said: 'I thought it was okay the day after but by day two? I looked like Megamind.' (Picture: Jam Press/@bodyrenovation_)

It didn't stop there, either. Logan said: 'After I took the headband off, it started falling down my face and it lead to some pretty interesting head shapes.' He added: 'Every time the band was on it would collect and swell in my forehead and top of my head. By day three, my eyes were heavily bruised and looked like I'd gone 12 rounds with prime Mike Tyson.' His right eye nearly closed entirely and his forehead ballooned to almost twice its usual size.' Before things all went a bit wonky, Logan had been feeling rather pleased with himself. He travelled through London the day after surgery wearing a headband with 'WANT HAIR' printed on it, which earned him a few smiles. The jokes faded quickly once the swelling really kicked in and left him unable to feel his skull for a week. That was when he decided the indoors were preferable to public transport. With little else to do, Logan documented the saga on TikTok where the comments section predictably found its comedic voice. One viewer joked: 'He can remember the future.' Another added: 'Had a lot on his mind.' While someone else urged: 'Stop overthinking!' Logan took it all in good humour, though. (Picture: Jam Press/@bodyrenovation_)

The whole effort had started because Logan wanted to 'look his age again'. He felt his thinning hair aged him by a full decade and that something needed to change. He said he didn't want to shave it all off without at least trying a transplant. He had felt on the brink of losing too much and knew it was either action now or regret later. (Picture: Jam Press/@bodyrenovation_)

He explained his reasoning clearly: 'I wanted to revive the hair line and not look like I was 26 pushing 36. It was at a point where I needed to either shave it or try something else. I decided to give a transplant a go as I didn't want to be bald and regret not trying something.' His frankness about the whole thing has been quite admirable. (Picture: Jam Press/@bodyrenovation_)

Looking back, Logan said he had been losing hair since he was a teenager and knew the day would come sooner rather than later. He hadn't expected it to arrive quite so soon, or that his hairline would mount what he called 'an all out attack'. He's hoping, despite the initial problems, that the transplant will take. The final results will take another 12 months to appear. Best of luck to you and your head, Logan. (Picture: Jam Press/@bodyrenovation_)
