By James BrizuelaShareNewsweek is a Trust Project memberShedeur Sanders got his second NFL start in Week 13, as the Cleveland Browns took on the San Francisco 49ers. Despite hopes for a second win, the team fell to 3-9 on the season with a final score of 26-8.
Sanders was under constant duress from the strong 49ers defense, as he took three sacks throughout the game. It's hard to be a rookie quarterback in the NFL, but even harder to go against one of the best defenses in the league.
Even with the 49ers' defense barreling down on Sanders, he still played a decent game. He ended the day with 16-for-25 attempts, 149 yards, one touchdown, and a 93.6 passer rating.
It was reported that Sanders would get a longer "audition" to prove that he is the quarterback the Browns need for the future, and that appears to be the case despite the loss.
Following the end of the game, Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski announced that Sanders will get the start again in Week 14.

Per reports, Stefanki announced that Sanders will remain the starter for the game against the Tennessee Titans.
Sanders is only two starts in, but he has secured 405 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions in that time.
One interception was during his limited time taking over for the injured Dillon Gabriel against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 11. Simply put, he has not played a terrible brand of football.
The Browns were asked by fans, pundits, and more to put Sanders in. However, Stefanski stuck with Gabriel, despite his inability to win all but one game in his six starts.
Sanders took over when Gabriel suffered a concussion in Week 11, and he propelled the Browns to a Week 12 win against the Las Vegas Raiders. Despite stumbling against the tough 49ers, he will remain under center.
Sanders has shown at times that he can extend plays and make good throws. However, he has also taken some big hits in the process.
At one point, Sanders had to come out of the game against the 49ers after he suffered a small injury on a run. Either way, the rookie will remain the starter for the team moving forward.
